Well I don’t know how to even start this. Hoping to not bore anyone much here’s our situation:
We were in the market for a new house, our first one. We had about had our fill of looking. It wasn’t easy looking at all those houses, especially for what we thought we could afford. So one day we found this house, in what seemed like a nice neighborhood.
I was a little concerned about some of the electrical wiring, my daughter’s room had a switch in her CLOSET for her light, connected to open wiring! Wow I didn’t realize this was just the START of our problems.
We attempted to get the owner to fix these issues, to which they stated they could not, or would not. Well as I said we were buying our first house and I’ll admit a little stupid, and figured we could get that done later.
So NOW, we find that the house needs to be re-wired! After attempting to put in GFI outlets, doing the kitchen first we found that apparently there is too much power going to that outlet, so it would trip all the time. Now those wires are taped up with no outlet, and the rest of the outlets in the kitchen no longer work. Well with the past couple of years we see constant flickering of lights, making me think there is a short or more.
So last year the basement light went out. I couldn’t figure this out! Finally somehow I established that it was the switch. Well I replaced the switch. Basement works! Um, kitchen lights no longer work.
2 hot water heaters in 5 years, some plumbing that came about and we’re BEYOND broke. Of course the one bathroom toilet leaks into the basement, maybe it’s not seated right?
Anyway, just when you think you’re slowly catching up, more things go wrong. I can understand that a home has issues now and then, but our home won’t let up.
The oven now no longer works. It has an error code which I looked up and looks like we’ll need a new one. JUST GREAT!
The basement is FLOODING! First by the windows over the washer & dryer, now through some unseen crack near the front of the house…. oh yeah the sump pump was replaced after the whole basement flooded by THAT window last year too.
To top this off, in the past 2 weeks we noticed the dryer isn’t working right. The timer doesn’t work and it sounds like a belt is loose?
WE BOUGHT THIS HOUSE FOR A DECENT PLACE FOR OUR KIDS TO GROW UP! What the hell were we thinking????
We’re both working full time and trying to keep up, but right now we’re short of a miracle to get anywhere. Talk about being perpetually depressed!
So while I don’t like to ask for help, I am using a PayPal donate button. If anyone uses it please know we appreciate it immensely.
Thanks for reading this.
